Refund Policy
In force from October 14, 2026
Summary for busy lease teams. We do not return subscription fees. A charge is reversed only in the three situations listed under "Cases we do refund". The specimen-lease demo lets you watch an abstract being built before you pay, and renewals can be switched off from your account whenever you like.
1. What you pay for
Every LeaseAbstracts plan is a recurring subscription, billed monthly or yearly, with the lease volume and seats shown on the pricing page. The fee buys access to the software for the billing period. It is not a price per lease, per abstract or per export, and it is earned in full when the period opens, whether your team uploads two hundred leases that month or none.
Paying for a plan is an express request that we start the service at once. To the extent any statutory withdrawal right or cooling-off period would otherwise cover the purchase, you accept that it lapses as soon as the service has begun.
2. Reasons that never lead to a refund
We will not return all or part of a charge because:
- your portfolio project ended, the audit was finished, or you simply decided you no longer need the tool;
- nobody on the team used the workspace during a paid period, or you used fewer leases than the plan allows;
- a renewal was collected, including one that succeeded only after earlier attempts were declined;
- you thought you were making a one-time purchase, although the pricing page, checkout, confirmation email and account all show that plans renew;
- you forgot to cancel ahead of the renewal date, or cancelled shortly after it;
- you disagree with a date, amount, clause summary or confidence score produced by the AI; extraction is probabilistic, every abstract is meant to be reviewed by you, and the demo exists so you can judge quality first;
- a feature you expected is not described on the pricing page, or behaves differently from how you pictured it;
- a lease file was scanned poorly, password protected, damaged, incomplete or in a format the software cannot read;
- you picked the wrong plan, billing period or number of seats;
- part of a period remains after you cancel; access runs to the end of the period and is not pro-rated;
- someone else used your account, including a colleague or contractor you shared access with.
3. Cases we do refund
There are exactly three, each one must be supported by our records, and each covers only the charge concerned.
Billed twice. An error in our billing took payment two times for one period.
Card used without permission. Your card was charged without your authority, you notify us within 14 days of the charge, and the account and payment records confirm it. Saying so is not enough on its own; the evidence decides, and we may ask for confirmation that you reported the misuse to the bank that issued the card.
Service completely down. A fault on our side, which we confirmed, kept LeaseAbstracts wholly unusable for an unbroken stretch of time, you reported it while it was happening, and we could not restore it. Slow processing, a single feature misbehaving, or trouble with your own computer, network or documents does not count.
An approved refund is the limit of our liability for that charge. It never exceeds the amount paid for the affected period, it goes back only to the card that was charged, and it gives no right to any later refund.
4. How to ask
Email [email protected] from the address registered on your account, no later than 14 days after the charge. Tell us the date and amount of the charge and which of the three cases applies. Requests that arrive later or through another route are not considered.
We work through requests in the order received, without a promised response time, and a declined request is not reopened.
5. Cancelling and renewals
A plan keeps renewing until you cancel it in your account. Cancelling takes effect for every future renewal immediately, leaves your workspace open until the paid period ends, and does not count as a refund request.
Once a new period has started, access for it has been granted and its fee is due. If your card is declined, the amount remains owed and is retried over the following days; those retries collect the same invoice and are not additional charges. Cancelling while a retry is pending stops later renewals but does not cancel the invoice for the period already under way, and that renewal is not refundable. To avoid the next charge, cancel before the renewal date shown in your account.
6. Chargebacks
Disputing a charge with your bank without first writing to us breaches our Terms of Service. When that happens we close the account permanently and send the records described below to the card issuer.
7. Records that support a decision
Creating an account means accepting the Terms of Service, of which this policy forms part, and the Privacy Policy. Checkout states the plan, price, billing period and automatic renewal before you pay, and the confirmation email repeats them.
For each subscription we keep when it was bought, the plan and price shown at checkout, your acceptance of the terms, the emails sent to you, and an activity log of the account: sign-ins, uploaded leases, abstracts generated and exported, team changes, with the technical details logged at the time. Our payment operator holds its own record of each charge, including the country of the card, where the payment originated and the outcome of bank authentication such as 3D Secure. Claims about unauthorised charges are weighed against these records.
8. Earlier purchases
Subscriptions bought before October 14, 2026 remain under the refund wording that was published on the date of purchase.
